Pakistan Idol Auditions Bring Classics to Life

Pakistan Idol is the Pakistani musical reality show based on the format of American Idol which is world’s most popular musical reality show. Previously, season 1 of Pakistan Idol was aired around 11 years ago. The show is scheduled to air on Green Entertainment, Geo and PTV Home. Fawad Khan, Zeb Bangash, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Bilal Maqsood are judging the show.

So far, four episodes of Pakistan Idol aired on different channels including Green Entertainment, Geo and PTV. The audition episodes featured exceptionally talented singers whose performances made the mark and secured them a place in Pakistan Idol competition.

Faryal Amber sang Chan Deya Totya We Dilaan Deya Khoteya, a famous Punjabi song by Madam Noor Jahan. She perfectly sang a difficult and kept it’s vibe alive and was given the title of Golden Voice by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Hafsa Nadeem
The contestant Hafsa Nadeem sang Madam Noor Jahan’s classical ghazal Dil Darakhney Ka Sabab Yaad Aya. It was one of the most watched videos on the YouTube. Here is the link to the video:

Samya Gohar
Samya Gohar beautifully sang the Ghazal Aaj Janay ki Zid Na Karo in Pakistan Idol’s episode 4. Judges love her version of the Ghazal and enjoyed it in silence. Here is the link to the video:

Maham Tahir
Maham Tahir’s excellent cover of Abida Parveen’s Tere Ishq Nachaya is one of the most watched performance. She sang Abida Parveen and judges loved her performance.

Muhammad Nabeel
Muhammad Nabeel surprised the judges with Tufail Niazi’s emotional Punjabi song Sada Chidyan da Chamba Ve. They enjoyed his powerful performance. Watch Here:

Ahsan Malik
Ahsan Malik sang Mehnaz Begum’s Ab Ke Tajdeed Wafa Ka Nahi Imkaan Jana and his emotional rendition made the judge Bilal Maqsood teary-eyed.

Wajahat Ali
Wajahat Ali sang Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Saab’s Kinna Sohna Tenu Rab Ne Banaya. His performance was praised by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan along with a few suggestions. Bilal Maqsood loved his version of the song:

Rawish Rabab
Rawish Rabab is also getting a huge praise for singing Nugahain Hun Gai Pur Nam. Her song reel on Instagram has already garnered 1 million views. She was being loved for bringing 1960’s classical touch in her vocals. She was one of the initial contestants. Here is the link to the video:

Sohail Ahmed
Sohail Ahmed sang old beautiful traditional song Kadi Aa Mil Sanwal Yaar We, sung by Asad Abbas a few years ago. Fans loved his version and many said it reminded them of the singer.
