Published

on

Realme has officially unveiled the Realme 16, marking the debut of the non-Pro model in the lineup after the earlier launch of the Realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+. The company is expected to roll out the device in additional markets in the coming weeks.

Design and Display

Unlike the Pro models, the Realme 16 adopts a new Air Design that draws visual inspiration from the iPhone Air concept and recent Google Pixel phones. The rear features a horizontal camera visor that houses the main camera system. A distinctive addition is the selfie mirror positioned on the edge of the phone, allowing users to take self-portraits using the rear camera.

The phone is 8.1mm thick and weighs 183 grams. It also carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, offering protection against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets.

On the front, the Realme 16 features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is rated for up to 4,500 nits peak brightness and is protected by AGC DT Star D+ tempered glass. An ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is embedded under the display. Color options include White Swan and Black Cloud.

Internals and Software

The Realme 16 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset. It is offered with 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB. No additional memory configurations were mentioned at launch.

For software, you get the latest version of Android (Android 16), with Realme UI 7.0 on top, which is loaded with AI features to make life easier.

Cameras

The rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor using the Sony IMX852, paired with a 2MP monochrome sensor. The phone supports Realme’s LumaColor Image processing technology.

On the front, the device includes a 50MP selfie camera housed within the display cutout. The previously mentioned selfie mirror also allows users to capture selfies using the main rear camera.

Battery and Pricing

The Realme 16 packs a 7,000 mAh battery and supports 60W fast charging.

Pricing starts at $443 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The higher configuration, with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, is priced at $481.
