Sumbul Iqbal Talks About Quitting Showbiz Industry
Sumbul Iqbal is a celebrated Pakistani television actress. She began her career at a very young age, and her notable television plays include Meray Khwab Raiza Raiza, Kis Din Mera Viyah Howay Ga 2, Raju Rocket, Rukhsaar, Aik Pal, Tumsay Mil Kay, and Aik Thi Rania. She was recently admired for her performances in Geo TV’s popular drama serials Maan Nahi Saas Hoon Main and Haya.
Sumbul Iqbal recently appeared on Tabish Hashmi’s show, where she opened up about achieving fame at a very early age. She also addressed a question regarding the possibility of leaving the media industry.
When asked if she had ever thought of leaving showbiz, Sumbul Iqbal said, “I never thought of leaving the showbiz industry. I thank Allah that people know me and appreciate my work. Whatever I have done, good or bad, people have acknowledged it, for which I am grateful. This motivates me to do more work. It would be foolish to suddenly leave something to which you have devoted so much time. The message for everyone is to never abandon the work you have dedicated yourself to.”
Talking about gaining fame at a young age, she added, “Getting fame at a young age was surreal. I thank Allah. Honestly, at first, I didn’t even realize I had become famous. I wasn’t aware of what fan moments look like. I once went to take admission after college, and people started recognizing me by my character’s name. Boys and girls would laugh, praise me, and recite my dialogues. It became challenging to walk through the university corridors just to submit my admission form. I was happy inside but worried about coming to the university daily with this much fame. I then decided to complete my studies privately.”

Sanam Saeed & Emmad Irfani Were Not The First Choice in Kafeel
Sanam Saeed and Emmad Irfani are two stellar Pakistani actors who are currently garnering praise for their intense performances in the complex Umaira Ahmed script Kafeel, which is airing on ARY Digital. The toxic household story of Jami and Zeba is sparking debate across television as well as social and digital media platforms, and drama fans are hooked on the storyline. Both Sanam Saeed and Emmad Irfani have been convincingly portraying Zeba and Jami’s unhealthy and toxic relationship.
Interestingly, Sanam Saeed and Emmad Irfani were not the first choices for the lead roles in Kafeel, as the characters were previously pitched to many popular actors as well.
Dr. Ejaz Waris recently revealed in his video that the roles were initially offered to Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa. However, Mahira Khan could not take up the role. It was later offered to Saba Qamar, who refused it. Hiba Bukhari was also approached, but things did not work out between her and the team. Eventually, the role went to Sanam Saeed. Similarly, the male lead was offered to Ahsan Khan, who declined. Finally, the role was taken up by Emmad Irfani who ruined it. It was also pitched to the director Badar Mehmood, but the project did not materialize with him and was then given to Meesam who didn’t do well in it. According to the commentary, the drama has now lost its initial charm and impact. Watch the video here:
Kafeel viewers are sharing mixed reactions, with many praising Sanam Saeed for her performance, saying she has truly nailed the role, while suggesting that other actors might not have done justice to the character. One fan noted that Amina Sheikh could have been another promising choice for this role. Read the comments:

Faysal Quraishi Responds to Nauman Ijaz’s Make Up Taunt
Faysal Quraishi is a versatile Pakistani actor and host. His most popular television dramas include Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan, Main Abdul Qadir Hoon, Bashar Momin, Muqaddar, Khaie, Haiwaan, Farq, Hook, Behroopia, Bheegi Palkain, and Fitoor. The actor recently garnered praise for his outstanding performance as Kamran in Case No. 9. He is currently hosting a Ramzan transmission where he often discusses industry controversies with guests.
Recently, in his Ramzan transmission Bahar e Ramzan, Faysal Quraishi responded to Nauman Ijaz’s taunt about him and Humayun Saeed wearing makeup for their dramas.
Talking about it, Faysal Quraishi said, “It’s okay if Nauman Ijaz said this. I don’t think he meant to taunt us. Maybe he wanted to say that he focuses more on character roles and that’s why he doesn’t need makeup. I am sure he didn’t mean to degrade us. I think he wanted to say that Humayun and I become heroes, and he is focused more on character roles. Half or incomplete conversations always spark debate, and one should always complete the point. Besides this, Nauman Ijaz is a handsome man; he doesn’t need any makeup. Also, social media adds fuel to the fire — it could have been ignored.” Watch here:
It is pertinent to mention that Nauman Ijaz once said on The Buzz that he doesn’t rely on makeup as he’s neither Faysal Quraishi nor Humayun Saeed — for him, it’s always about selling the character, not the face. Watch here:
