Fiza Ali & Yousaf Salli on Modern Day Red Light Areas
Fiza Ali and Yousaf Salli are two renowned Pakistani celebrities known for their love of art and culture. Fiza Ali has been an accomplished host, while Yousaf Salli is known for his lavish cultural events and TV show setups at his Haveli. He has recorded multiple PTV programs at his Haveli, including the popular Virsa. Recently, he celebrated Basant and gave several interviews to various television and digital media platforms.
Fiza Ali recently interviewed Mian Yousaf Salahudin for the Channel 24 Plus podcast. In the podcast, Yousaf Salli expressed his concern about the spread of Heera Mandi into Defence.
Speaking about modern day red light areas, he said, “Currently, the whole of Defence has become Heera Mandi. All the people from Heera Mandi have moved there, and all the posh areas have turned into red-light zones, with activities being carried out openly. In older areas, such things were more hidden and kept within limits but in such areas, everything is open and obscene. By saying Heera Mandi has shifted to Defence, I mean you don’t even know who lives next to you. In the walled city of Lahore, everyone knows each other. You could walk the streets late at night, and no girl would face harassment. But in Defence, girls cannot roam freely—people tease them, boys chase them. In the walled city, you could wear any dress, and no one would dare stare. On Sundays, Delhi Gate is bustling, and both visitors and locals are treated with respect.” Here is the link to the video:

Mrs. Khan Defends Men’s Second Marriages
Mrs. Khan is a well-known Pakistani matchmaker who gained fame due to her controversial statements about girls seeking rishtas and marriage culture. She often makes bold remarks about relationships, which spark debate on social media. She also went viral after criticizing the negative behavior of some wives and daughters-in-law. According to her, many marriages end in divorce because of women’s unnecessary arguments and demands with their husbands, and in-laws. Over time, she has become a regular guest on morning shows and is often considered a ratings booster. Hosts frequently invite her to share her unfiltered opinions on marital issues and marriage proposals.
Recently, she appeared on the morning show Rise and Shine, hosted by Nadia Khan and Zohaib Hassan. During the set of the show, she shared light-hearted moments with the hosts and openly discussed the topic of second marriages for men, where she defended the practice and expressed her views without hesitation.
Zohaib Hassan introduced Mrs. Khan, saying, “We have a special guest, Mrs. Khan, who didn’t search a proposal for me, although she had promised me fifteen years ago. But I am now married.”
Mrs. Khan replied, “You didn’t show interest and didn’t come to me; I would have fixed your match. Now that you are married, love your kids. I am in favor of one marriage, but a second marriage is good if a man can afford it—like if his women are okay together and they live as sisters, like women do in Saudi Arabia, it should be done. I won’t allow it for my son and daughter, but if a man has become so desperate, then you can’t stop him; you should not stop him from second marriage” Talking about her viral statement that women should not argue, she said, “It’s an old saying where we were told not to indulge in arguments—apni Lallo mat chalao—but now people consider it offensive.” Here is the complete video:
