NVIDIA Chief Executive Jensen Huang said the company will invest a significant amount in OpenAI’s latest funding round, according to Bloomberg, after The Wall Street Journal reported that the two companies were rethinking a previously announced $100 billion agreement.

Speaking to reporters in Taipei, Huang said the investment could be the largest NVIDIA has ever made, Bloomberg reported.

NVIDIA and OpenAI announced in September that NVIDIA would invest up to $100 billion to help build 10 gigawatts of artificial intelligence data centers. The companies said the first phase of the project was targeted to go online in the second half of 2026.

The Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the discussions, that the agreement has not progressed beyond early-stage negotiations. The report also said Huang has described the deal as nonbinding and has criticized OpenAI’s business approach in private discussions.

According to Bloomberg, Huang dismissed the Journal’s claims as “nonsense” and told reporters he believes in OpenAI and views it as one of the most consequential companies of the current period.

Bloomberg reported that Huang also said NVIDIA’s investment in the current funding round would not come close to $100 billion.
