Pakistani Celebrities Heavily Criticized for Basant Celebrations
Basant is a cultural festival celebrated across the subcontinent and is popular in both India and Pakistan. The festival of Basant was first started in Punjab centuries ago and marks the arrival of the spring season, usually observed in March and April. Although Basant was banned in Pakistan for years, the government recently resumed it and scheduled the celebrations from February 6 to 8. People from all over Pakistan traveled to Lahore to celebrate the festival. Along with the general public, several celebrities were also spotted enjoying Basant, including Saboor Aly, Sajal Aly, Ali Ansari, and others. Maya Ali also shared a video celebrating Basant.
However, these celebrations have sparked severe public backlash, as celebrities continued to celebrate despite a violent attack on an Imam Bargah in Islamabad on February 6. Additionally, the nation is still grieving the victims of the Gul Plaza incident, the Teera Valley tragedy, and the ongoing unrest in Balochistan. Social media users have expressed deep disappointment over celebrities’ tone-deaf behavior, as many did not pause their festivities and continued celebrating with full zeal and zest. Not only that, but they also shared celebration videos with fans while completely ignoring the blast. Watch the videos:
Social media users are posting against the celebrations and are demanding an instant ban on the festival. One wrote, “How easily they are manipulating Muslims, and they are falling prey to their conspiracies. May Allah give us guidance.” Another wrote, “They didn’t even care about what happened in Islamabad. Why can’t they stop Basant for the innocent martyrs? They don’t love Pakistan, for sure!” One warned, “Islamabad is bleeding. Stop sharing this shit. Focus on real problems.” A netizen wrote, “Please, I’m Muslim. Islam doesn’t allow all of this.” One said, “It’s all good now because you all made a video out of it.” Read the comments:

Meri Zindagi Hai Tu Criticized For Normalizing Toxicity
Meri Zindagi Hai Tu is one of the most popular and widely watched Pakistani television dramas currently airing on ARY Digital. The drama stars Bilal Abbas Khan and Hania Aamir in the lead roles. It is written by Radain Shah and directed by Mussadiq Malek. The series revolves around Kamyar, a rich, spoiled brat who falls in love with Ayra, a medical student. MZHT is receiving both praise and criticism for its storyline; many viewers dislike the toxic male lead, while others are appreciating the narrative.
So far, 28 episodes of the drama have aired on ARY Digital. In these episodes, Kamyar is portrayed as a problematic husband who loves to party with his friend Faria, shows little concern for Ayra, and continuously mistreats her.
The majority of Meri Zindagi Hai Tu viewers are now bashing the makers for introducing toxic twists that portray Kamyar as a red flag. Many viewers are disliking his unhinged behavior and are calling out the writer for attempting to normalize a toxic storyline.
An MZHT fan wrote, “This drama illustrates how abuse, stalking, and many other issues are normalized in our society. It also highlights how men often get a free pass for their actions, and unfortunately, women continue to give them chances in the name of a distorted version of love.” Fans also called out Kamyar partying with Faria. One stated, “The audacity of Kamyar to still have parties with Faria and blame Ayra for all the nonsense…!” A fan questioned Kamyar, writing, “I Can’t believe what Kamyar is doing. He is going out with the girl who literally ruined his love life. He can forgive Faria, but not Ayra. What kind of stupidity is this?” A fan expressed disgust, saying, “What a rubbish drama it is with the title Meri Zindagi Hai Tu, literally normalizing harassment like that through the top faces of the industry. I am glad I haven’t wasted my time watching all the episodes.” Another wrote, “This drama has been normalizing the most absurd and disturbing things, but they are still giving it a million views.” One fan wrote, “First, alcohol is haram in Islam. Second, a person who drinks alcohol is like animals who don’t know how to respect their relationships and loved ones. This drama is a total waste of time because they are normalizing haram things among our youth. Our respectable government should take action against them.” Read comments here:

Recently, Laiba Khan appeared on The Tricky Podcast, hosted by Mahnoor Khan. During the podcast, Laiba Khan shared financial tips for future brides. She also revealed why she decided to get married.
Talking about it, Laiba Khan said, “I think we should not buy expensive clothes; brides can rent them instead. We wear wedding dresses just once, so why spend so much money on them? I believe new brides should invest in gold jewellery, which turns out to be a valuable asset in the future. Makeup nowadays is getting expensive, but since you get married once, you should buy quality makeup for yourself.” Watch here:
Talking about her idea of marriage and the decision, Laiba Khan said, “I was fond of getting married since my childhood, but when you grow up, you realize that marriage is a responsibility and your life changes afterward, so you have to be mentally prepared for it. If your mind is not aligned with the idea of marriage, you should not go for it. You have to be capable of taking your husband’s and kids’ responsibilities, and never get married under social pressure. It should be your independent decision; relationships break under pressure. In my case, I had been thinking about marriage for quite some time, and when I felt it was the right time, I talked to my family, and it happened because everything was sorted.” Here is the link to the video:
