Pakistan’s IT Exports Jump to $2.61 Billion in 7MFY26
Pakistan’s IT exports rose to $2.61 billion during the first seven months of fiscal year 2025 to 2026, marking a strong increase of $431 million compared to the same period last year.
The sector continued its double-digit growth trajectory, supported by rising foreign earnings from IT companies, freelancers, and remote professionals serving global clients across multiple markets.
Despite the overall growth, the monthly performance showed some slowdown. IT export receipts declined to $374 million in January, down from $437 million in December 2025, showing a dip in momentum after consistent gains.
The increase in export receipts reflects expanding global demand for Pakistan’s IT services, particularly in software development, freelancing, and digital solutions.
Industry experts believe the growth has been fueled by a combination of skilled talent, cost competitiveness, and increasing participation in international markets.
Former Chairman of Pakistan Software Houses Association, Mohammad Zohaib Khan, noted that emerging Gulf markets, especially Saudi Arabia, could play a critical role in future growth, potentially transforming Pakistan’s export landscape.
He added that Pakistan is also strengthening partnerships with technologically advanced countries, with a growing focus on high value sectors such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity to improve global competitiveness.
However, it’s to be noted that despite the strong performance, the sector is expected to fall short of its $5 billion export target for the current fiscal year.
