The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued an advisory highlighting that protecting children in the digital environment is a shared responsibility, as concerns grow over unsafe and excessive internet use by minors.

In the advisory, the PTA urged parents to set clear and limited screen time for children to maintain a healthy balance between education, recreational activities, and family life. The regulator warned that unmanaged screen exposure can negatively affect children’s learning patterns and overall well-being.

The authority also advised parents to actively monitor their children’s online activities and guide them on the responsible use of the internet and social media platforms. It stressed the importance of educating children about potential online risks and safe digital behavior.

To improve online protection, the PTA recommended using parental control software and content filters. The regulator added that a list of approved parental control tools is available on its official website to help parents protect children from harmful and inappropriate online content.
