Realme Neo8 Goes Big on Battery as Key Specs Are Officially Confirmed

Realme has officially confirmed several details about its upcoming Neo8 smartphone just days before its launch. The device is scheduled to debut on January 22 in China and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.

Battery Capacity and Durability Ratings

Through a series of posts on Weibo, Realme confirmed that the Neo8 will feature an 8,000mAh battery, which is 1,000mAh larger than the battery used in the Neo7.

The company also confirmed that the phone will carry IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It will include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

Display and Protection

The Neo8 will feature a Samsung M14 OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. Realme confirmed that the panel will be protected by Crystal Armor glass.

Hardware and Software Features

Additional confirmed features include an X-axis linear motor, super-linear stereo speakers, an infrared sensor, multi-angle NFC support, and dual-frequency GPS.

The smartphone will ship with Realme UI 7.0 and is confirmed to receive three years of operating system updates.

Camera Setup and Color Options

Realme said the Neo8 will be available in Cyber Purple, Mecha Grey, and Origin White color options.

The device will feature a triple rear camera setup with support for up to 120x digital zoom and will include an LED light strip on the rear.
