Redmi’s New Gaming Phone Brings 9,000 mAh Battery and a Flagship Grade Chip
Redmi has officially launched the Turbo 5 Max in China after weeks of teasers, introducing a smartphone built around an unusually large battery and a new flagship-class MediaTek chipset. The device becomes the first phone globally to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor.
Design and Display
The Redmi Turbo 5 Max features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 12-bit color panel. It uses M10 luminescent material and delivers peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and a 480Hz touch sampling rate.
On the front, the device includes a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and a 20MP selfie camera. The phone also carries up to an IP69K rating, adding resistance against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets.
The handset is available in Auspicious Cloud White, Ocean Blue, Sunshine Orange, and Shadow Black color options.
Internals and Software
At its core, the Turbo 5 Max runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s SoC. The chipset is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
To manage thermals, Redmi has equipped the phone with a large surface vapor chamber cooling system. The device ships with Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and includes stereo speakers, an infrared sensor, dual SIM support, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi Fi 6, and NFC.
Cameras
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP Light Fusion 600 primary sensor with optical image stabilization. It is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera.
For selfies and video calls, the phone relies on a 20MP front-facing camera.
Battery and Pricing
One of the key highlights of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is its 9,000mAh battery. The phone supports 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging. It also uses Xiaomi’s P3 fast charging chip and G1 battery management chipset.
Pricing starts at $360 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 12GB/512GB and 16GB/256GB models are both priced at $400, while the top-end 16GB/512GB version costs $445.
