TCL’s New Mini LED Gaming Monitor Brings Extreme Color Accuracy and 320Hz Refresh Rate
Ffalcon, the oddly named sub-brand under TCL, has launched the Thunderbird Q7A Pro gaming monitor in the Chinese market.
Display and Panel Specifications
The Thunderbird Q7A Pro uses a 27-inch Fast IPS panel supplied by CSOT. It features a 2560 × 1440 resolution and a 320Hz refresh rate, positioning it for competitive and esports-focused gaming.
The monitor relies on a QD-Mini LED backlight with 1,196 local dimming zones to improve contrast and reduce halo effects. It reaches a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and carries VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification.
The panel supports quantum dot color enhancement and covers 99 percent of both the DCI-P3 and sRGB color spaces. Ffalcon rates its color accuracy at ΔE less than 2. The display supports 10-bit color through 8-bit plus FRC processing.
Performance and Gaming Features
The Q7A Pro delivers a 1ms gray-to-gray response time and offers multiple overdrive modes for motion tuning. It includes an MPRT-Plus mode designed to improve clarity in fast-moving scenes.
The monitor supports both FreeSync Premium and G-Sync Compatible standards to help reduce screen tearing and stuttering during gameplay.
Connectivity and Multitasking
For input options, the display includes two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 port. All ports support full 2K resolution at 320Hz.
Additional features include a headphone jack and support for picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes, allowing users to view content from multiple sources at the same time.
Design, Ergonomics, and Power
The monitor uses a hexagonal base and an ergonomic stand that provides 125 mm of height adjustment, along with tilt, swivel, and pivot functions. It also supports VESA 100 × 100 mounting.
The display uses full-range DC dimming and includes a low blue light mode. It draws 65 watts of power and ships with a three-year replacement warranty.
Pricing
The Thunderbird Q7A Pro 27-inch display variant is listed at $330 in China.
