Tecno has introduced the Camon 50 and Camon 50 Pro in several African markets ahead of their expected showcase at MWC next month. The two devices share most of their specifications, while the Pro model adds a curved display and a dedicated telephoto camera.

Design and Display

The Tecno Camon 50 Pro features a 6.78 inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen is curved. It also integrates an under-display optical fingerprint scanner.

The standard Tecno Camon 50 carries the same 6.78 inch AMOLED panel with identical resolution, refresh rate, selfie camera, and fingerprint scanner. However, it uses a flat display instead of a curved one.

Both phones are offered in Moonlight Black, Malachite Green, Nebula Titanium, Fir Green, Lavender Mist, and Mint Cream. The Camon 50 Pro is also available in an additional Ethereal Blue color option.

Internals and Software

Both models run on MediaTek’s Helio G200 Ultimate chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The devices boot HiOS 16 based on Android 16 and include Tecno’s AI suite. They also come with IP69K, IP69, and IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Cameras

On the rear, both phones are equipped with a 50MP main camera using Sony’s LYT700C 1/1.56 inch sensor with optical image stabilization. The primary camera has a 23mm equivalent focal length.

They also include an 8MP ultrawide camera with a 14mm equivalent focal length and an f/2.2 aperture. The Phone houes a 32MP front camera.

The Camon 50 Pro adds a third camera: a 50MP telephoto lens with a 70mm equivalent focal length and 3x optical zoom.

Battery and Pricing

The Camon 50 and Camon 50 Pro are powered by 6,150mAh batteries and support 45W wired charging.

The Camon 50 is listed at $290, while the Camon 50 Pro starts at $341.
